The Black Sheep: Reviews & Ratings

First experience at The Black Sheep and definitely NOT our last! Everything about this restaurant was flawless. Walk into a beautifully decorated restaurant that screams class and elegance. We were quickly greeted by our waiter Will who proved to be amazing in every way from guidance with the menu, attentiveness, and a vibe as if we had known him for years. Then came the food… as beautiful as every plate and drink was that was quickly overshadowed by its amazing taste. If I had to say anything negative it would be the fact that we were able to get a reservation easily which I know will not be the case in a few months when more GVL foodies try this amazing spot. I’m sure the entire staff is amazing but I can promise that when we make our reservations moving forward we will always request a table in Will’s section. Until next time Black Sheep… you were amazing.

One of the most beautiful restaurants I’ve ever been in. The atmosphere is sexy and dim perfect for a girls night out or date night. The cocktails we all tried were absolutely out of this world. Seriously. We joked that we wished we could take them to-go in a gallon container. We, a group of 4, shared 6 items split between each part of the menu and each one went back to the kitchen completely scraped. Jonathan, our server, was soooooo sweet and attentive. The design, the service, the drinks, the food, even the playlist over the speakers, everything there was not a single miss in our experience. 10/10!

Hubby and I went to The Black Sheep last night to celebrate his birthday and our experience from the minute we were greeted at the door, to our waiter, others that stopped at the table, to the bartender and the hostess at the other door we left out of... Everything was top notch 5 star service. There was even a birthday card waiting at our table! The specialty cocktails were phenomenal (Rind & Rue, Smoke em if you got em, and Open sesame), food was amazing and definitely 5 ⭐! ( lavash board, waygu kebab, black bass). Topped it off with a great dessert (rice pudding & mulberry tart). They really put a lot thought and time into the beautiful decor, as well! This restaurant is a gem in our North Main community! Highly recommend this restaurant and we'll be back!

WOW what wonderful addition to Greenville’s culinary community! The atmosphere is first class, omotenashi ????????the staff worked together to anticipate and respond to make the evening pleasurable. The meal was prepared well and delicious when you’re ready for a treat, head for the black sheep the food and s, service is something Greenville is sure to be proud of ^^ountain ^^an Enjoying life, one day at a time Revisted the black sheep last night. The bar was occupied, and I was seated in the Cocktail Lounge. WOW delightful place to enjoy cocktails, unequaled from my experience in Greenville. Started with a Mojito, fresh mint, and a slice of lime. just the right sweetness for my taste. NEXT I was soon offered a seat at the bar; however, I was so comfortable and enjoying where I was being served in the cocktail lounge. Mari & Leah, thank you :))) I appreciate being served individually and exploring cocktails that I want to try. Mari is a MASTER, i think they say, Mixologist <3 And the black sheep has a representative variety of fresh-squeezed juices, fruits & and veggies. Ask Mari anything ha ha and Leah is so SPECIAL as well. Leah explored my request for a Hemingway daiquiri with Mari, born in Cuba, perfect. The black sheep was prepared with fresh grapefruit, fresh lime, and a maraschino cherry. All the ingredients were there for my first Papa Dobie. After reading more of Ernest Hemingway today, I was served his favorite Cuban daiquiri. I understand, he usually ordered a double, or two, ha ha. A delightful cocktail. Fresh and simple syrup made with pure cane sugar.. As the bar thinned out, I was offered my favorite seat at the front end of the bar and greeted by a couple from Pickens. The staff was kind and generous and allowed us to enjoy finishing our drinks. Mari had served me a French 75. Do you know how the French 75 was named? AI ha ha Thank you, the black sheep, for another enjoyable evening. especially your kindness and generosity> Omotenashi< look it up ^^ountain ^^an enjoying life, one day at a time

The Black Sheep offers a unique fine dining experience in Greenville. The menu focuses on cuisines from four Mediterranean countries and changes seasonally. I ordered the lamb kibbeh for a starter, the wagyu kebab for my entree, and finished with the semolina cake. Every dish I tried was fantastic. I sat at the bar and got to enjoy a few of Mari's beautiful cocktails, which are also inspired by the same Mediterranean countries.

Update Dec 6 2025: This is becoming my favorite restaurant in Greenville. Black sleep has IMMEDIATELY claimed the title of best Mediterranean in Greenville. Our server Palmer was super friendly and informative. The food was spectacular. They're going to rotate their menu so, if you go soon, you need to get the following: lamb appetizer (the pickled raisins somehow brought the entire dish together), the zucchini dish, and the lamb entree. Not far behind were the muhamara and the wagyu kebab. The drinks were also fantastic, especially the golden ark. Soon it will become difficult to get a reservation for this place, so get in while you can.

Absolutely fantastic! Every detail at The Black Sheep was thoughtfully designed, and you can tell the owner put care into every aspect of the restaurant. From the decor to even the silverware setup, it’s truly a one-of-a-kind experience. The service was outstanding. Everyone was kind, knowledgeable, and offered great suggestions ( shout out to our server Niko!). The drinks were excellent and worth the price. The Golden Ark is a must-try. The food was phenomenal. Appetizers were flavorful and much more filling than expected, and our mains (the Wagyu Kebabs and the Lamb) did not disappoint - perfectly balanced and absolutely delicious. For the quality, creativity, and overall experience, it’s worth every penny. The Black Sheep is a true gem and one I’ll be returning to.
